Expat Imnida

Man, the past month has FLOWN BY.  Sorry for the radio silence, but I've been busy with a million changes, bouncing around the country and the Pacific, getting settled in my new diggs, learning my new job.  It's been amazing.  Change is hard but could I be so bold to say I'm getting better at it?

You might notice some changes on my blog!  Previously, this space was called "A Year in South Korea" but if you've been keeping track you'll know, it's going to be a little longer!  With that BIG LIFE CHANGE, I needed a new name.

Wikipedia defines Expatriate as a person temporarily or permanently residing in a country and culture other than that of the person's upbringing. Check.

Imnida means "to be" (...or not to be? I JUST CAN'T HELP MYSELF!!). You use imnida any time you'd say is or am.  For example: to say "I'm a teacher," you'd say "seon-saeng-nim imnida" (선생님입니다).

Expat imnida.  I'm an expat.  And I am.  AND I LOVE IT.

Now that that's taken care of, and with an updated look, I promise to catch you all up on what's been happening in my life lately! It might take me a couple weeks to get it all out, but I have a few posts bouncing around in my brain to share.  Stay tuned!
