Since I hear that phrase WAY. TOO. OFTEN, I decided to implement a new "Teacher! Finished!" policy in my classes.  This is how I've taught my students to let me know that they're finished with their work and I should come over and check their page.

Hands on head, mouth closed, waiting patiently.  What a dear!
